Robin was out and about in the woods one day, looking for something to eat. As he walked along, he noticed something shining on the ground. It was an egg! He couldn't believe his luck and immediately picked it up and put it safely in his knapsack. He was so excited and couldn't wait to show it off to the other animals in the forest. Robin hurried back and proudly showed the egg to his friends, all of whom were amazed at his find. They all asked him where he got it and he proudly told them he found it in the woods. After a while of admiring his find, he decided to take it back to his nest and keep it safe.

The next morning, Robin was awoken by a loud noise outside his nest. He popped his head out to find that it was the egg he had collected the day before. To his surprise, it had cracked open and a small, scruffy duckling had emerged. He was in shock at first but soon realized this was the opportunity to give the little duckling a home.

Since then, Robin has been devoted to caring for the duckling, protecting it from harm and teaching it how to be a good duck. He loves watching the duckling build a nest and set out on its own adventures. Most of all, though, Robin loves telling others about how he found the egg and gave the little duck a home. What a great adventure it has been!
