The knee is a complex joint that is made up of four bones, ligaments, tendons, and muscles. It connects the thighbone (femur) to the two lower leg bones (tibia and fibula). The knee joint is the largest joint in the human body and is one of the most important joints in the body. It carries the body's weight when standing and helps to absorb shock when walking or running. The knee joint is surrounded by muscles, tendons, and ligaments that help it to move and function properly. The muscles and tendons of the knee help to stabilize the knee and allow it to bend and straighten. The ligaments provide stability to the knee joint by connecting the thighbone to the lower leg bones. The knee joint also contains a number of cartilages that act as shock absorbers and provide cushioning when the knee is in motion. The feet are connected to the knee through the tendons and ligaments of the lower leg. The tendons attach the muscles of the lower leg to the bones of the foot and the ligaments connect the bones of the foot to the knee joint. These structures help to provide stability to the foot and allow the foot to move in its proper range of motion. Without the knee, the foot would be unable to move in the proper range of motion needed for walking and running.
